Fettuccine Alfredo with Peas

Ingredients

butter
3.5 count
garlic cloves, minced
1.5 cup
heavy cream
1 cup
freshly grated parmesan cheese
salt
black pepper
1 pinch
grated nutmeg
0.5 tsp
crushed pink peppercorns
12.5 oz
fettuccine
frozen peas

Before you start

  • Mince 3-4 garlic cloves
  • Grate parmesan cheese
  • Lightly crush pink peppercorns. Don't grind.
  • Measure out heavy cream, butter, and remaining ingredients
  • Put water on the heat to boil

Instructions

    While the water is coming to a boil, melt butter in a sauce pan over medium-low heat
  2. 2.
    Add minced garlic and cook gently, keeping the heat low
  3. 3.
    Slowly add the cream, stirring to bring it up to temperature
  4. 4.
    Add frozen peas to the sauce
  5. 5.
    Bring heat to low and slowly add the parmesan a little bit at a time, stirring continuously
  6. 6.
    Remove from heat and grate nutmeg to taste, then add crushed pink peppercorns
  7. 7.
    Cook pasta according to package directions, then drain
  8. 8.
    Place drained pasta back into the pot, add the sauce, and toss to combine
  9. 9.
    Let sit for 2-5 minutes before serving
